2175592 - Signal 11 in kbfalloc() when creating index - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • ASE reported an "Infected with signal 11"  (SIGSEGV) error in the module kbfalloc().
  • It was followed by a stack trace with functions:

kbfalloc
ubfallocf
createpool_n_alloc
memallocheap
all_expand
expand_ALL_nodes
colnames_recurse
colnames_driver
s_normquery

  • ASE was attempting to create an function-based index with a fully qualified (database.owner.name) object name, where the lengths of the database, owner, object, and column names totals 48 characters.
