2176435 - Gross Pricing Not Supported by Projects Based Services and Products.

When you assign project based item type in sales order /sales quote the system displays the error message "Gross pricing not supported by projects based services and products".

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Sales Orders work center.
2. Choose New sales order view, under Common tasks.
3. In the Account field, enter ABC (where ABC represents the Account ID.
4. In the Sales Unit field, enter EDF (where EDF represents the Sales Unit ID).
5. In the Employee field, enter any of the available options.
6. Navigate to the Items tab.
7. Select Add Row button.
8. In the Product field, enter the Product ID XYZ (where XYZ represents the Product ID).

The system displays the error message "Gross pricing not supported by projects based services and products".

This is an expected behavior of standard ByD system, currently the system does not support the total price in the form of Gross Price for project-based services and products and the total price is supported in the form of Net price.

Further since the system deal with the expense of the project-based services and products, Net (or Net) refers to the amount left over after all deductions and are made like expenses occurred for the project etc.

This can be checked in the master data of the Service/Product through the Item Group. The below steps can be performed to check the item group of the Service/Product:

1. Go to Product Data work center.
2. Go to the Services/ Products subview.
3. Search for the specific service or product.
4. Choose Edit button.
5. Go to Sales tab under Details: Distribution Chain under the Sales subtab

In the Sales tab, it is possible to identify which Item Group maintained for the Service/Product. If the service or products belong to one of the below item groups then the Service/Product is project based item. 

PBTM - Service - time and material (project)

PBFP - Service - fixed price (project)

PMAT - Product - project based

1. Go to Sales Orders work center.
2. Go to the Sales Order View.
3. Filter for All Orders.
4. Search for the Sales Order ABC.
5. Choose the Sales Order ABC.
6. Choose Edit button.
7. Navigate to the General tab.

Switch the Price In radio button from Gross to Net Price.

Note: The Price In radio button might not be visible in General tab of the Sales Order. In this case, it is required to enable the button through the Personalization Mode
