2177584 - Exception while deleting substitution rules after upgrade

A specific user "User1" is unable to delete a substitution rule for a "user2" from 'My substitution rules' list. "User2" notices duplicate entries of "user1" in 'Other user's substitution rules'. When trying to delete, "user1" receives an error in the screen:

"com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.substitution.SubstitutionException: Wed Nov 25 11:30:15 CET 2014 Error returned from provider: Action not performed. Check log file for details"

The affected rules were set before an upgrade. All new rules work properly and can be set up and deleted.
