2177897 - SMP 3: GET request results in 401 error while server log shows javax.net.ssl.SSLPeerUnverifiedException: peer not authenticated

Symptom

  1. SMP 3.x is being used
  2. A backend is configured in SMP using HTTPS
  3. A client application (or REST client) is being used to test the service
  4. The Client application recives the response 401 from the SMP serer
  5. The SMP Server log have errors similar to the following:
    javax.net.ssl.SSLPeerUnverifiedException: peer not authenticated
