2178193 - Is it possible to update an Item ID and Type within LMS?

• How to edit and change existing Item ID and/or Item Type.
• How to copy and create a new item in LMS.

Currently, editing item IDs and Item Types within LMS is not supported. Typically, IDs serve as the primary key in database tables and once created, they cannot be modified or deleted.

The only workaround is to copy and/or create a new item using the following steps:

1. Open the Item.

2. Use the Actions menu and select "Copy" to duplicate the item.

3. Create a new item ID.

4. If required, modify the Item Type for the new item.

5. Copy

Note: The Item ID, Item Classification and Item Type cannot be modified through the 'Revise' feature.
