2178473 - Upgrade to SP 9 Fails With 'invalid xml' Message

Symptom

When trying to upgrade to SAP HANA SP9 via HLM the following error occurs:

The support package stack 09 (11/2014) for product SAP HANA Platform EDIT. 1.0 is not supported or the content have invalid xml. To update your system using this stack, make sure it is a valid stack and you run the latest version of the tool you are using.
