2178704 - Oracle table dropped/recreated when maintaining partitions - SAP PD

Symptom

  • Table is dropped then recreated when the table partition is altered (e.g., creating a new partition or deleting an existing one) instead of generating the alter table partitioning_clause syntax.

  • For example, SAP PowerDesigner should generate:
       alter table tablename
          add partition;
    to add a new partition and
       alter table tablename
          drop partition;
    to drop a table partition.
