2179545 - SSIS Package Execution fails with Attempted to read or write protected memory - SDK for SAP ASE

Symptom

  • when using same parameter twice in a batch of SQL sent to ASE
  • In SSIS package sending SQL statement (simplified version): select @p1 select @p1.
  • The parameter is defined properly in the SSIS package.
  • The SSIS Package execution fails with the following error:
    • Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
    • Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.
  • No problem if just sending "select @p1".
