2180219 - How to Add Standard Portlet - Development Goal in Employee Profile - SuccessFactors Employee Profile

Symptom

  • Request to add the standard Development Goal portlet in employee profile;
  • Required configuration changes in the datamodel XML;
  • Required configuration changes Admin Center > Configure People Profile.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login into the SuccessFactor instance;
  2. Admin Center > Configure People Profile;
  3. Select the dashboard in the right side that you want to add the portlet;
  4. Click on the development goal standard portlet and drag and drop into the target empty block which you need to configure:

  5. Then configure it:

  6. But if the portlet is not defined in the datamodel XML it will not be displayed in the profile.

Cause

As the standard development goal portlet is not defined in the datamodel XML.

Resolution

The configuration via Front End (UI) on Configure People Profile is done by Customer or Implementation Partner;

Partner and SF Support team can configure on the Provisioning/Backend.

Configuring the Provisioning:

  1. Login into provisioning for the customer instance;
  2. Click on Import/Export Data Model and export the datamodel of the instance;
  3. Add a background field as shown below:

  4. Save and import the datamodel XML into customers instance;
  5. Now the portlet will be available under permissions and once the permissions are provided the portlet will be displayed in the profile. 

Note on permissions: users must have permission to access the Development Plan module in order to access the portlet.
