Symptom
The UI generates a warning stating 'non-working day' while creating the Class.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
- Log into XHM > navigate to Learning Administration >
- Learning Activities > Items > search for or add a new Instructor-Led or Instructor-Led with Online Content item >
- At the item's record, click on Actions > Schedule >
- The 'Add New Class' wizard opens >
- Define the Start Date as a Saturday or Sunday > add the Start Time, and add no Facility > hit 'Preview' > the warning is shown >
- A warning is also displayed when proceeding with the class scheduling with the Start Date being a Saturday or Sunday: upon 'Save', the system asks: "The Time Slot start date falls on a non-working day. Do you wish to proceed?" >
- If the admin chooses to proceed with the class scheduling, the system allows it and the warning can be ignored.
Cause
The system by default takes Saturdays and Sundays as non-working days, hence the warning.
Resolution
To prevent the warning from happening, it can be created a work week profile as per your requirement based on the working days for the organization. Different Organizations have different working days for the week.
- To create a work week profile, please navigate to Learning Administration > References > Calendars and Time > Work Week Profile >
- Add New > define the working days of the week for this profile.
- Once this Work week profile is added, it needs to be associated to a Facility: navigate to References > Physical Resources > Facilities >
- Search for the required facility > open the record > at the Summary tab, add the newly created Work week profile > hit 'Apply Changes'
- Now, when creating a class and selecting this Facility, the system will consider the working days of the week as per the work week profile associated.
