Symptom
- Running the srvbuildres utility to build a new ASE server reports the following messages:
installmaster script complete.
Creating two-phase commit database...
Two phase commit database complete.
Extending tempdb database ...
Unable to log in to Adaptive Server '<Server_Name>'.
Task failed
Server '<Server_Name>' was not created.
- The ASE errorlog shows Error 1601:
Error: 1601, Severity: 17, State: 3
There are not enough 'user connections' available to start a new process. Retry when there are fewer active users, or ask your System Administrator to reconfigure ASE with more user connections.
- The 'netstat -a' command show lots of connections established to ASE hostname/port from a remote server.
