Symptom
- 'View Object details' is displayed for a user in the 'Completed Items' or 'Assigned Items' tab if there is a content object associated with the item. Ex.: It has an online component, and if the user has tried to launch the item at least once.
- If the object details are correctly populated in Learning, it also suggests that communication between the Learning and the content is functioning properly.
- Why does the 'View Object Details' sometimes display under an item, but not all the time?
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
- Learning Administration > People > Users >
- Search for the user record >
- Go to the 'Assigned Items' tab >
- Search for the item >
- Notice that the 'View Object Details' option is missing for that item.
Cause
The 'View Object Details' option is displayed for a user in the 'Completed Items' or 'Assigned Items' tab if there is a content object associated with the item. Ex.: It has an online component, and if the user has tried to launch the item at least once.
Resolution
There are three prerequisites for the 'View Object Details' to populate in a user's Learning plan:
- It should be an Online Item >
- The Online Item must have Content Objects in it >
- The user to whom the item is assigned must try to launch the item at least once.
Only if these three criteria are met will the 'View Object Details' be displayed. If the 'View Object Details' link is unavailable, the admin can modify it from a different section:
- Access the user record >
- Proceed to 'Content Status' tab >
- The Object Details link is accessible there.
Note: You will see the item in the learning plan (with the view object details) if the user launches the item but does not complete it. If an admin uses the Record Learning tool, the 'View Object Details' link on the Learning History/Completed Items will be missing.
