2186632 - Objective Status Not showing in Ad Hoc Report - Goal Management

  • The user will be unable to successfully generate reports for the Objective Status Plan using the Ad Hoc Reporting tool when the Goal plan has not been updated and/or saved.
  • Data from the goal will not display properly and the Ad Hoc Report will not display any of the data required.

Reproducing the Issue

  • The reports pull specific data from reporting tables when the reports should come directly from the Goal Plans associated with each.
  • For the data to be pushed to the reporting tables for the Ad Hoc Report, the data would typically require user interaction to trigger the report.
  • When an existing Goal Plan is carried forward without any changes or updates by the user, the reporting tables are not populated with the data resulting in the Ad Hoc Report being pulled as a blank document.

The behavior is expected because the Goal status will not show up in the report due to the Goal Plan not being updated in the Database.

  • Reports pull data not directly from the goal plan, but from reporting specific feedback tables.
  • A trigger must happen to push data from the Goal Plans to the reporting tables before the Ad Hoc reports can report on them.
  • When an employee’s Goal plan has not been changed or updated, the goal does not have goal data in the reporting Database.
  • In order to trigger the data push for the goal status to reporting tables users will only need to save their goals.
  • Any goal not reporting a status is in effect expressing a default state as a status of the goal.
  • This may be sufficient to understand the objective status.
  • Alternatively, if the goal plan is connected to a PM Form the following path can be administered:
    • Admin Tools > Manage Templates
    • Select your template and trigger the “Open & Save” option
    • Goals should then be evaluated and the reporting tables updated.

NOTE: This is a workaround and may not work in all scenarios. The issue will naturally resolve itself as users interact with their goal plans.
