What is a RBP Static Permission Group?

• In SuccessFactors Permission Groups, there is one type of permission group designed to manually add users to the group on bigger quantity.
• It is possible to create the same on Dynamic Group using username as filter on the group definition, though when the number of users becomes large, the performance for group maintenance and refreshing might be slow.
• Admins are able to create static permission group via import function, which will not refresh when user information changes, since the group stores a static list of users instead of dynamic criteria.
• It is also possible to view the members of the group and use the same as RBP target group.

How to identify a RBP Static Permission Group

1. Go to Admin Center
2. Go to Set User Permissions and then select Manage Permission Groups
3. In this page there is a column (Static or Dynamic) which indicates whether a group is dynamic or static:

How to view group Users

1. Go to Admin Center
2. Go to Set User Permissions and then select Manage Permission Groups
3. Click the Group name

How to create or modify static permission group

Note: in the UI for static group the Take Action option are only Delete and View Summary

Is it possible to export Static Permission Group?

You can search for imported static group name in Manage Permission Groups and edit the group via the UI, but exporting static permission groups is not supported.

Is it possible to automate Static Permission Group import through Schedule Job?

There is no schedule job for Static Permission Group import.

What should be the file encoding for the import? 

The file the character encoding should be Unicode (UTF-8).

Is there a maximum file size for the import? 

• The max file size is 20MB
• If the import file exceeds 20MB, separate the file into several smaller files/request Professional Services modify the system configuration file.
