2188166 - Signal 11 in module memmove - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • ASE error log reports one of more instances of message 'infected with signal 11' in the module memmove
  • The stacktrace does not show other meaningful code modules other than memmove
    • The other stack functions are all generic error handling ones

  • Below example of entries in the ASE log
    • See attachment Full_Stacktrace_Example.txt for a full sequence

Current process (#) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
Address # (memmove+0x97)

followed by stack trace ending with

kisignal
memmove
end of stack trace, spid 123 ...
