Symptom
- Development Plan not showing competencies mapped to field other than job code, in system with Job Description Manager (JDMv1.0).
- Competencies not populating in Add Development Goal window.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Career Development Plan
- SAP SuccessFactors Job Description Manager (JDMv1.0)
Reproducing the Issue
- In Admin Center > Manage Job Roles;
- Open the target Family;
- The job roles have the Mapping Data Type other than Job Code (example below is using "custom02"):
- There are competencies mapped to the roles:
- On Development Plan page, click Add Development Goal;
- Competency section is empty/blank:
Cause
There may be two reasons why the Competencies are not showing when adding Development Goal:
- Wrong Competency Mapping in Admin Center;
- Specific Category and/or Library defied in Development Plan Template.
Resolution
Competency Mapping
The Development Plan is configured to show competencies mapped to jobcode field only. If competencies are mapped to a field other than job code, then they will not show in Development Plan.
Competency in Development Plan only searches for users' job code field and any other field mapped in JDMv1.0 will not be considered by the system, and competencies associated will not be displayed in Development Plan.
This is the expected behavior of Development Plan with Job Description Manager (JDMv1.0). For Competency behavior with Job Profile Builder (JPB or JDMv2.0), review the KBA 2285092 - Job Profile Builder: Mapped competencies are not appearing in different modules.
Category and Library Mapping
If the category and/ or the library are not correctly mapped in the Development Plan Template, the competencies will also not show when adding Development Goal.
To complete tasks in Provisioning, contact your Implementation Partner. If you are no longer working with an Implementation Partner, contact SAP Cloud Support via case, under component LOD-SF-CDP (Career Development Plan).
For Partners & Support Only
- In Provisioning > Import/Update/Export Development Plan Templates;
- Export and open target template xml;
- Verify the values configured for the section <competency-filters>;
- In Provisioning > Competency Library;
- Open the library mentioned in the template xml, and make sure that the Category matches the one in the xml:
- In case a library is also defined for the template, confirm the Library name matches the one configured in the template:
NOTE: In case translations are applicable, make sure to add the translations to the library configuration. Competencies will not show for system languages if they are not defined:
