2191001 - Unexpected jumps in timestamp during database recovery - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • The timestamp (@@dbts) value for a database may jump unexpectedly during recovery (boot-time or LOAD).
  • In rare cases, the jump may be so large that ASE raises Error 6910 and places the database in a read-only state:

Error: 6910, Severity: 21, State: 1
The timestamp of database '%.*s' has reached the maximum allowed. The database will be shut down to prevent its timestamp from overflowing. Please contact SAP Technical Support.
