2193184 - Warning Message Properties of This Field Cannot Be Maintained occurs While Adding Extension Field to Other Extension Scenarios

Symptom

Extension field of type Formatted Text cannot be used on other extension scenarios. The following warning message: Properties of this field cannot be maintained is received.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

As an example field type - Formatted Text is used.

You have already created an extension field of type Formatted Text.

  1. Go to the Customers work center.
  2. Select the Accounts view.
  3. Open a random Account.
  4. Enter Adaptation.
  5. Navigate to the field.
  6. Click Edit.
  7. Navigate to Enterprise search, extension scenarios or services.
  8. You see that the facet appears empty and the following message is displayed Properties of this field cannot be maintained.

Cause

This is the standard expected system behavior.

Resolution

Extension field of type Formatted Text and Date/Time cannot be used on other extension scenarios.
