2193588 - Error 10707, Java work directory is not readable or writeable in SAP ASE.

Symptom

  • When adding work_dir with the sp_jreconfig stored procedure, it gives the directory read and write permissions.
  • When using a java.io class to write to or read from a file in the new directory, a permission denied error is received:

Msg 10707, Level 16, State 1:
Server 'SYBASE', Line 3:
Unhandled Java Exception:
java.io.FileNotFoundException: /opt/sybase/myfile.txt
