You can convert a Lead without an associated Account and Contact into an Opportunity by using the following steps:

1. Go to the Sales work center.
2. Select the Leads view.
3. Open any lead.
4. Click the Actions button.
5. Choose the Convert to Opportunity option.
6. A new quick create window opens and the mandatory fields are automatically taken over.
7. Click the Save button.
8. The Lead is converted into an Opportunity.

After converting the Lead into an Opportunity the Account and Contact are automatically activated in the system.
