2196493 - Fixed Asset Depreciation to be Calculated Before Migration Date

You want to calculate depreciation for the fixed assets before migration date.

1. Go to Fixed Asset work center.
2. Go to Depreciation view.
3. Click New -> Depreciation.
4. Run Depreciation before migration date.

The system is not allowing to depreciate the asset before migration date.

Depreciation is always calculated from migration date, it is not advisable to calculate depreciation of assets before migration date.

Regarding depreciation of a migrated asset with a date before the migration date, even if the depreciation start year is before the migration year, the depreciation starts only from migration start year.

You are supposed to migrate all the depreciations from the legacy systems, as we cannot create postings for any date before the migration start date.

If you calculate depreciations for the year before migration, then this we would have to add that depreciation values also to the year of migration that would be incorrect accounting as each year balance should go to that respective year only.
