2198923 - Tables of type <table_name>~~OLD are left in the database after the system switch upgrade

Symptom

After the system switch upgrade using Software Update Manager (SUM), tables with suffix ~~OLD are left in the database. Due to this, following symptoms can be seen:

  • Old tablespace cannot be deleted as it contains such objects
  • Objects of type ~~OLD can be seen in DB02 transaction under "Missing tables/indexes" > "Unknown objects in ABAP Dictionary"
  • DBcheck might return  IN_WRONG_TABLESPACE warnings for tables of type <table_name>~~OLD
  • ERROR in DBCLONE Phase: 1EETGCLN cannot use duplicate index name <Index name> because of existing objects with suffix ~~OLD

  • MAIN_SHDIMP/EU_CHECK informs you about the existence of <table_name>~~OLD
