2200290 - After activating IPv6 the UMEBackendConnection fails with partner not reached on Netweaver AS Java

Symptom

  • AS Java engine fails to start after activating IPv6 connectivity.
     
  • UME Service fails to start due to a UMEBackendConnection error in log std_server0.out:
    "com.sap.engine.frame.ServiceException: Start of UME service failed. Check help topic "Start of UME Service Failed". Technical details: com.sap.conn.jco.JCoException: (102) JCO_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Initialization of destination UMEBackendConnection failed: Connect to SAP gateway failed
    Connection parameters: TYPE=A DEST=UMEBackendConnection ASHOST=<HOST> SYSNR=00 PCS=1
    Caused by: com.sap.security.core.persistence.datasource.PersistenceException: com.sap.conn.jco.JCoException: (102) JCO_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Initialization of destination UMEBackendConnection failed: Connect to SAP gateway failed"
