2205240 - "XA OPEN submitted..." when connecting to CICS for transactions with "net password encryption req" enabled. - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • SAP ASE has the  configuration parameter "net password encryption req" enabled (set to '1').
  • Transactions on this ASE are coordinated by CICS.
  • CICS is not able to create connections to SAP ASE with "net password encryption req" enabled. 
  • The following message might be seen in TX Series (CICS) errorlog file:

XA OPEN submitted for Server 101 connected to 'SYBASE_XA_SERVER' using XA_OPEN string 'Context Property CS_SEC_ENCRYPTION not supported'.
