2206497 - "Question Short Description" not visible in questionnaire runtime

After maintaining the “Question Short Description” in a Survey, the value does not appear when previewing or executing the questionnaire.

SAP Cloud for Customer

1. Go to Surveys Work Center.
2. Click on Surveys View.
3. Click on New and fill the necessary information.
4. Open it.
5. Click on Design tab.
6. Click on Add.
7. Check the field Short Description.
8. Fill this field and complete the Survey.
9. Release the Survey.

Product is working as designed. “Question Short Description” is a reporting-only attribute. It is intended to let administrators define concise, consistent labels for questions and answers, especially when the full question text is long or multilingual.

• For display to respondents, use “Question Text” (and “Help/Additional Text,” if available) on the question.
• For analytics, add the “Question Short Description” column to your Survey reports. The field is available in Survey reporting data sources/views (for Question/Answer-level reporting).
• There is no standard configuration to render “Question Short Description” in the questionnaire runtime UI
  
   

Workarounds and Best Practices

• Keep “Question Text” short and respondent-friendly. If more guidance is needed, use “Help/Additional Text” (if available) to provide details.
• For reporting, standardize “Question Short Description” across languages to serve as a consistent label in dashboards and reports.
