2208596 - liveCache upgrade fails with SQL error -4008

Symptom

While patching or during the upgrade of a liveCache database you observe the following errors (which the messages may vary):

Checking upgrade...
Finding instance type...
Checking mmap support...
Finding starting release...
Finding APO starting release...
Finding migration strategy...
ERR:  Upgrade failed
ERR:    Error checking Upgrade
ERR:      Finding migration strategy...
Execution of sql script failed
ERR:  SQL error performing command 'DROP TABLE LC_RELEASE_MATRIX'
ERR:    SQL error : -4008, Unknown user name/password combination

With this error you are not able to complete the required task.

  • SAP liveCache 5.1 LCA Build 04 (SAP liveCache Kernel 7.7.02.08 and higher);
  • Any operating system that supports MaxDB/liveCache.
