2210022 - Retrieve version information of SAP Cloud for Customer, extended edition for Windows

You need the version number of the SAP Cloud for Customer, extended edition for Windows-app you are using on Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, but apparently, no version information is shown either in the Store or within the app.

There are two ways were you could expect a version number:

1. On the Microsoft Store (You can find the app either via the search or directly via the URL https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/sap-cloud-for-customer-extended-edition-for-windows/9nblggh1ntrs), similar to other app stores (Apple App Store for iPhone/iPad or Google Play for Android devices)
2. Within the app, similar to other available SAP Cloud for Customer apps (e.g. SAP Cloud for Customer for iPad)

You can however not find details about the version of the currently installed app.

The SAP Cloud for Customer, extended edition for Windows app is built as a so-called hybrid app upon the responsive UI for SAP Cloud for Customer. Version details included in the UI would also be visible when opening the responsive UI in a web browser or from different apps, where a version number belonging to another app would cause irritations.

A message box with version information can be triggered in the "Enter PIN"-screen of the app:

1. Open SAP Cloud for Customer, extended edition for Windows
2. When asked for a PIN, click on the SAP logo in the lower left of the screen and hold the mouse button down until a message box appears. If you are using a Windows tablet press your finger on the SAP logo until the message box appears:
   

Now a message box with the desired version information appears:
