2211203 - Error Message: Bank account number not valid according to check digit calculation code

Symptom

Error message is thrown when trying to add a New Bank Account:

'Bank account number not valid according to check digit calculation code'.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Liquidity Management work center.
  2. Go to the My Banks view.
  3. Select the bank entity and click Edit Bank Accounts.
  4. Create a new bank account record.
  5. Error message is displayed: 'Bank account number not valid according to check digit calculation code'.

Cause

Ideally system cannot mis-interpret the bank account number by itself.

The bank account number is checked against the Check digit calculation code provided in the Bank Directory of the My Bank.

The Check digit calculation code and the bank account number are to be provided by the bank.

Resolution

The check digit calculation code must be validated in the Bank Directory for My Banks and the bank account number with the respective bank.
