Symptom
- Error: This report contains invalid Crystal Reports formulas that cannot be evaluated; or
- Error: This report file does not contain saved data and connet be viewed.
- Unable to view a report with saved data in Crystal Reports Viewer.
- When opening a report with saved data in Crystal Reports Viewer, it fails with the error:
Formula Evaluation Problem
This report contains invalid Crystal Reports formulas that cannot be evaluated.
Contact the report author to correct the problem.
- The report successfully open in Crystal Reports designer and display the saved data, the error only occurs when opening the report in Crystal Reports Viewer.

Reproducing the Issue
- In Crystal Reports, create a report off any data source.
- Create a formula using the ShiftDateTime function, set the time zone to be empty, and insert the formula on the report.
An empty time zone indicates it will take the local time zone of the computer. The formula will look like:
ShiftDateTime (DateTime (2013, 01, 01,0, 0, 0), "UTC,0", "")
- Save the report with data.
- In Crystal Reports Viewer, when opening the report with saved data, it displays the error:
" Formula Evaluation Problem
This report contains invalid Crystal Reports formulas that cannot be evaluated.
Contact the report author to correct the problem."
Cause
- This issue occurs when the report contains a formula using the function: ShiftDateTime.
- The issue has been identified and logged under Problem Report ID ADAPT01698517
Resolution
- The issue is resolved in the following product updates:
- Crystal Reports Viewer 2013 - Support Pack 06 and higher.
