2212542 - Standard reports error: Due to change in datamodel this report is no longer valid

When you open a Standard report the following error message is thrown:

• Due to change in datamodel this report is no longer valid.
• The following selected view columns are not valid.

• Ad Hoc Reports (Standard Reports)

1. Login to the instance
2. Select Analytics > Reporting > Standard Reports
3. Select the desired report. For this example the Birthday report
4. An error is thrown:

• Due to change in datamodel this report is no longer valid.
• The following selected view columns are not valid.

1. Business Unit
2. Job Title
3. Pay Type
4. Division
5. Etc..
   
   

Standard reports are hard coded into the Employee Central code. For this reason the report will work only if the selected columns are configured/visible via the data model.

The report behaviour is as designed. In fact, the standard reports will work only if the selected columns are configured/visible in the Data Model.

To solve the issue you can Save the report as Ad Hoc then remove the columns causing the error and share it to the desired users.

This can be done as follows:

1. Analytics – Reporting – Standard Reports
2. Action – Save As (This will save the report as Ad Hoc)
3. Select Ad Hoc reports
4. Find the report you just saved
5. Open the report in Edit mode
6. From the columns tab find and remove the mentioned columns/fields (e.g. Business Unit, Job Title etc.)
7. Run the report and it should work

Note: sometime it is possible to remove then add the field again.

Note: Additional approaches to solve this issue may involve Data model changes which we do not recommend as it may affect the whole system behavior.
