2213838 - TDS protocol error on RPC from ASE 16 to SAP IQ 16

Symptom

  • The following error is returned when performing an RPC call from ASE 16 to a stored procedure on IQ:
      CT-LIBRARY error: ct_results(): protocol specific layer: external error: There is a TDS protocol error. An illegal token was received.
       
  • Note:
    • This same RPC call runs successfully when running it from ASE 15.0.3. 
    • However, it fails when run from ASE 16 if the stored procedure on IQ returns numeric, decimal or datetime datatypes back to ASE as output parameters.
