2214323 - TEXT column replication fails with ASE Error 233 'The column... in table ... does not allow null values.'. - RepServer

Symptom

  • Getting the following error when replicating a table with a text column:

    ERROR #1028 DSI EXEC(9470(1) MYREPDS.repdb) - dsiqmint.c(3221)
    Message from server: Message: 233, State 2, Severity 16 -- 'The column mycolumn in table mytable does not allow null values.'.
     
  • This text column is defined as NOT NULL in the source and target tables.
  • The error started post synchronizing data and marking the table for replication using the sp_setreplicate system stored procedure.
