2214484 - Data source name not found and no default driver specified - SAP IQ

Symptom

  • Source database: IQ 16 on Windows

  • Target database: IQ 16 on another machine Windows

  • Remote Server created with IQODBC class.

  • No ODBC DSN created previously.


  • The following statements were executed:

    • DROP SERVER TestIQremote

    • CREATE SERVER TestIQremote CLASS 'IQODBC' USING 'DRIVER=SybaseIQ;HOST=xxxx;Server=xxx1;DBN=xxx'; 

    • CREATE EXISTING TABLE Test_Connection AT 'TestIQremote..dbo.Test_Connection_source' ;

    • Select  count(*) from Test_Connection  ;


  • The return received was:

    • Error : Unable to connect to server 'TestIQremote': [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified
    • SQLCODE=-656, ODBC 3 State="HY000"
