2216368 - How to test a Windows printer driver

Symptom

  • You have a problem where SAPSprint
    • crashes and you find entries in the Windows Event log which points to an error by the driver
      or
    • the SAPSprint hangs or simply restarts often like described in SAP Note 1069483, where the Windows printer driver is the reason for the error.
But because so many printers and printer drivers exist, SAP cannot provide a full list of affected drivers.
  • Also performance (slow printing) problems during print are possible which can be caused by a faulty driver.
  • This SAP KBA helps you to perform an initial test on the printer driver without physical printing (no paper waste), so you can at the end decide which driver suits best your printer.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
