2216470 - The Index Management Service is not running

The Indexmanagment service does not work.

1. When you navigate to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Index Administration, you get the following error:

   "The index management service is not running"
   
   
   
   

2. When you navigate to System Administration -> Monitoring -> Knowledge Managment -> Indexing Monitor, you can see the following error:

   Runtime Error
   An exception occured while processing the request.
   Additional information: com.sapportals.wdf.WdfException: com.sapportals.wdf.WdfException: com.sapportals.wcm.WcmException: no IIndexService service available
   ExceptionID = 40264a09-0d2d-2f10-4683-b48382147327
   
   

3. When you navigate to System Administration -> Monitoring -> Knowledge Managment -> Component Monitor -> Services the following error is displayed for Indexmanagement service:

   indexmanagement        Service        startup failed

   Startup Error:    InvalidEntryException: Cannot replace invalid configurable [configurable_J2EE_GST_PMP_config://local/cm/services/indexes/doc2] in [plugin_[config_fwk_service]_config://local/cm/services/indexes] Inner exception is: InvalidCheckConfigException: invalid properties in configurable [config://local/cm/services/indexes/doc2] : repositorymanager; Inner exception is: InvalidCheckConfigException: InvalidCheckConfigException: Inside folder "config://local/cm/services/indexes/Index/repositorymanager", unable to find the configuration object "plugin_[config_fwk_service]_config://local/cm/repository_managers" referenced by the property "config://local/cm/services/indexes/Index/repositorymanager" elements of the list "config://local/cm/services/indexes/Index/repositorymanager" are invalid: "1"
   
   

4. In the default trace you can see the following errors:

   Error in Indexmanagement: TaskQueueReaderTask could not execute task because Index Service is not running com.sapportals.wcm.WcmException: Error in Indexmanagement: TaskQueueReaderTask could not execute task because Index Service is not running

   TaxonomyNamespaceManager.getChildren: Error because the index with name doc2 is not available. Probably you have to delete old taxonomy data in the taxdata repository - java.lang.NullPointerException: while trying to invoke the method com.sapportals.wcm.service.indexmanagement.IIndexService.getIndex(java.lang.String) of an object loaded from local variable 'indexService'
