2216633 - Inventories Migrated Incorrectly / Balances of Some Inventories Mistakenly Migrated

After the migration of inventories the opening balance of some inventories was found to be incorrect because of wrong file/incomplete file used for migration.

However, there is no option available to reverse the migration.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to General Ledger work center.
2. Select Journal Entries view under Journal Entries.
3. Filter with Journal Entry Type Data Migration, Related Source Document Type Goods and Activity Confirmation and locate the posting in question

Incorrect balances are observed for some materials; however, there is no available option to reverse the migration.

Or

1. Go to Business Configration work center.
2. Select Implementation Projects view.
3. Search and Open the migration activity Migration of Accounting Transaction Data.
4. Click Migration accounting transaction data using the migration tool.

The already migrated units do not have an option to perform a reverse migration.

This functionality of directly reversing migrated inventories is not available in the current release of SAP Business ByDesign.

Direct reversal of the migration is not supported. To adjust the inventory balances affected by incorrect quantity selection, re-migration can be performed using adjustment stock.

Here, adjustment stock means that if 3 quantities were entered during the original migration, the same material should now be entered with a quantity of -3. This will eventually nullify the balance in the relevant inventory account, as the value is being entered as negative stock.
