2217001 - Error 11031, Procedure or function fails to execute because of errors parsing the source text - SAP ASE

Symptom

After an upgrade of 15.7 SP130 to 15.7 SP134, the following errors can be seen when executing a procedure or function:

  • Procedure error #11031: 
    Warning 11031
     

    Example:
    SP_xxxxx,Error: SQL Server returned error status value from executing
    Sybase Server xxxxx`:`warning 11031 (severity 16) from stored procedure 'dbo.xxxxx', line 97: Execution of procedure xxxxx failed because of errors parsing the source text in syscomments during upgrade. Please drop and recreate dbo.xxxxx.
    Sybase Server xxxxx`:`warning 103 (severity 15) from stored procedure 'dbo.xxxxx', line 97: The identifier that starts with 'xxxxx' is too long. Maximum length is 30.0
     
  • Function error #11798: 
    Msg 11798, Level 15, State 10
     

    Example:
    Msg 11798, Level 15, State 10: Server 'xxxxx_157': Illegal CREATE FUNCTION statement within a scalar SQL function.

    Msg 11031, Level 16, State 1: Server 'xxxxx_157', Procedure 'dbo.xxxxx':
    Execution of SQL function xxxxx failed because of errors parsing the source text in syscomments during upgrade. Please drop and recreate
    dbo.xxxxx.
