Symptom

  • Error 614 is reported in the ASE errorlog:

Adaptive Server accessed a row that has an illegal length of %d while in database xxx.
Page pointer = 0x0x2aaf29ee8000, pageno = 396643, status = 0x801, ptnid = 854212454, indexid = 0, level = 0.
The minimum row length is %d. The page size is %d.

  • The above error is preceded by error 12308 during a REORG REBUILD:

Beginning REORG REBUILD of index XX on table YY.
Error: 12308, Severity: 21, State: 7
Internal error : Invalid row id (Row 146, Page 396643) encountered in the table 'YY' in database 'XXX'.
Transaction (12624409, 30) is being rolled back using an optimized scan.
