2219704 - Not able to Select a Distribution Channel in a Sales Document and the Sales Data in the Account

You are not able to select a distribution channel in the sales documents and in the sales data of the account master data. In the drop down list there are no records shown.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
2. Select the Sales Orders view.
3. Click on the New button and select the Sales Order option.
4. Enter an account.
5. Enter a Sales Unit.
6. The following error message is displayed:
   Item : Distribution channel or sales organization missing
7. When you click on the drop down list for the Distribution Channel you can see that there are No records found.

1. Open the account master data for the respective account.
2. Navigate to the Sales Data tab.
3. Enter a Sales Organization.
4. click on the drop down list of the field Distribution Channel.
5. You can see that also here the system displays: No records found

The reason why you get no results for the distribution channels is due to the fact that the work distributions rules for your sales organizations have either not been set up or are not valid anymore.

You can check this as follows:

1. Go to the Organizational Management work center.
2. Select the Work Distribution view and the Organizational Work Distribution sub view.
3. In the field Effective Date enter today's date.
4. Click on the Go button.
5. Select the work category Relevant Distribution Channels.
6. You can see that no rule has been set up and the Work Distribution Status is Global Work Assignment.

1. Go to the Organizational Management work center.
2. Select the Work Distribution view and the Organizational Work Distribution sub view.
3. In the field Effective Date enter today's date.
4. Click on the Go button.
5. Select the work category Relevant Distribution Channels.
6. You can see that no rule has been set up and the Work Distribution Status is Global Work Assignment.
7. Click on the Edit button
8. Create the rules for your sales org units.
9. Click on the Save and Close button.

You will now be able to select the distribution channel in the sales documents and in the sales data of the account master data.
