2221681 - Updating Statistics - SAP ASE for Business Warehouse

For SAP BW applications on SAP ASE database, regular maintenance of table and index-level statistics is in place via DBACockpit ATM (Automated Table Maintenance), as described in SAP ASE Best Practices Guide - SAP Note 1680803.

Additionally, the BW application intrinsically maintains table and index-level statistics at the partition-level, as part of process chains.

On occasion, however, you find the performance on the BW system to be sub-par or degraded, following full/delta Data Loads or during BW extractions from ERP/CRM systems.

Moreover, the following checks indicate a RED light -- this typically means that the statistics are obsolete:

• RSA1->"Infocube"->Manage->Performance->Check Statistics 
• RSRV -> Database -> Check Statistics

• SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 15.7 for Business Suite
• SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) 16.0 for Business Suite
• SAP Business Warehouse - All versions
