2224578 - DDLGen execution generates thousands of transaction log records - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • The high number of transaction log records (as shown below) happens the first time that DDLGen is executed after an ASE startup.

  • If the volume exceeds the Last Chance Threshold (LCT) it may cause an Error 1105  or in the extreme Error 3475.

    • Rowcount from syslogs before DDLGen:
      select count(*) from sybsystemprocs..syslogs
       -----------
                24

    • syslogs rowcounts after
      select count(*) from sybsystemprocs..syslogs
       -----------
          15239
