Symptom

After using the option - 'Do not allow users to select inactive Divisions, Departments and Locations in the career site job search or when editing requisitions ' in the Manage Recruiting Settings in Admin Tools, the user still sees the inactive values available to select when editing a job requisition.

Reproducing the Issue

  3. Under the Job Requisition Section, you have selected the option 'Do not allow users to select inactive Divisions, Departments and Locations in the career site job search or when editing requisitions'

  1. However, when editing a job requisition, you can still see inactive Divisions/Departments/Locations in the list.

Cause

While it may seem that the Division/Department/Location is inactive in the system, there may still be some active users with that value in the system.

Note: Even if the Division/Department/Locations in question are inactive and the option in admin tools is selected, as long as there are active users with the Division/Department/Location as values, these will still show in the list. This is the designed system behavior.

Resolution

You will need to make the Departments inactive by following the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Admin Centre
  2. Manage Data
  3. Department-->Search for the Department
  4. Click on Take Action -> Make Correction

  1. In the 'Status' field, set the value to Inactive

Also make sure that there are no active users with these values.

You will then see that the option 'Do not allow users to select inactive Divisions, Departments and Locations in the career site job search or when editing requisitions ' in Manage Recruiting Settings will work and you will not see the inactive values for selection in the Job Requisition.
