2227152 - "Item already exists" error when renaming a table - SAP IQ

When executing a ALTER TABLE ... RENAME statement to rename a or column with the same name but with different capitalization, you get this error:

ALTER TABLE TEST RENAME Test;

Could not execute statement.
Item 'Test' already exists
