2229608 - Unable to upload Data Model: Missing Object Definitions - PARTNER

Symptom

Succession data model upload is failing, even after importing the corporate data model.

Environment

Employee Central - Provisioning

Reproducing the Issue

  • When trying to upload the corporate data model, we recive the error: Invalid file format specified. Please ensure the imported file is in XML format. The destination element id: LegalEntityof FO type location is not valid.
  • When tried to upload the succession data model,  received this error: The referenced MDF object definition doesn't exist: LegalEntity.

Cause

The object definition's status in the instance for the following objects were inactive :

  • LegalEntity
  • Department
  • Division
  • BusinessUnit

Resolution

  1. Login to the instance.
  2. Navigate to Admin Tools - Configure Object Definitions
  3. Under Object Definition select LegalEntity – Take Action – make correction – Change the status to active.
  4. Under Object Definition select Department – Take Action – make correction – Change the status to active.
  5. Under Object Definition select Division – Take Action – make correction – Change the status to active.
  6. Under Object Definition select BusinessUnit – Take Action – make correction – Change the status to active.

Once the status for all the four objects are made active, the import should work fine.
