2230638 - Rehire Fails When Spot Bonus Data Exists - EC

Symptom

  • The rehire process fails in the Compensation Portlet when the employee record has existing Spot Bonus records from the past employment.
  • When rehiring an employee, an error message displays:

Spot Bonus: Employee does not have a valid Job Information data on pay date dd/mm/yy

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Click Rehire Inactive Users
  2. Select the user you would like to rehire and click Rehire
  3. Go through all the rehire steps/portlets
  4. Last step (Compensation information) throws an error:

Spot Bonus: Employee does not have a valid Job Information data on pay date dd/mm/yy

Cause

  • The Rehire process fails during the Compensation Portlet because the existing spot bonus payments have a date which is now prior to the new hire date.
  • During rehire, the spot bonus payment dates are pulled from the past.
  • This pay date is validated against the new hire date because it takes into account that in this rehire scenario the pay date can also be from a previous employment period.

Resolution

The system behavoir is:

  • It will then check if it can find, a matching valid job info record for the spot bonus pay date.
  • If a valid job information record is found, then you can click submit even if the Spot Bonus payments are dating to prior of the new hire date.
