2231502 - Error: "ClassNotFoundException com.sap.webi.ui.jrp.WebIAppletStartup" when launching Web Intelligence in Applet mode

Symptom

  • When trying to start the Web Intelligence in Applet mode, it throws the following error message: "ClassNotFoundException com.sap.webi.ui.jrp.WebIAppletStartup".

  • In BI launch pad - HTML mode and in the Web Intelligence Rich Client the issue does not appear.
  • This may have occurred after the installation of Java version 8 update 45.
