2234253 - Error Deleting Global Assignment Record

Symptom

Getting below error when trying to delete a Global Assignment record.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the profile of an employee who is on Global Assignment;
  2. Click "Take Action";
  3. Select "Manage Global Assignment Details";
  4. Choose the option "End or Delete Global Assignment Details";
  5. Click "Delete";
  6. See the error pop-up:

Cause

This may be due to one of the following reasons:

  1. The event reason assigned to Event "Obsolete" has employment/employee status set to a different value than "Discarded";
  2. There are more than one event reason assigned to Event "Obsolete".

Resolution

For 1:

  • Go to the Event Reason > Select "Take Action" > "Make Correction" > Change the "Employee/Employment Status" to "Discarded" > Save.

For 2:

  • As best pratice, you should not have more than one event reason assigned to Event "Obsolete". This event is only used to delete global assignment records. If you do want to keep more than one make sure all event reasons have the same value in employee/employment status (this should always be Discarded).
