2235340 - How to enable Employee Central Document Generation feature


In SuccessFactors 1508 release, a new Provisioning Opt-in feature "Document Generation" was introduced.

What is Document Generation?

  • The new Employee Central letter generation feature allows admin users to create templates in the system, give necessary mappings for the master data, and generate documents for employees.

  • Feature can be available in Admin Center and will allow HR Administrators to create documents for employees. For example, Address proof, service experience document, certification of employment, Letter of reference etc.

The Provisioning option:

  • Enable Document Generation — requires “Enable Generic Objects” and “Enable the Attachment Manager”

This feature must be enabled by SAP prior to b1608 release.  Please create an case referencing this article.

Manage Employee Central Settings

In b1608, the Document Generation feature can be enabled via Admin Center > Manage Employee Central Settings


NOTE: Additional setup steps are required for use of this feature. Adminstrators use the Admin Center to complete the setup. The "Employee Central Implemenation Guide for Document Generation" is required and used by admistrators to complete the setup process once the feature is enabled by Cloud Product Support.
