2239108 - SET CHAINED command not allowed within multi-statement transaction error

Symptom

  • The Mobilink server fails to start because of error "SET CHAINED command not allowed within multi-statement transaction"
  • The Mobilink server log file shows the following lines:
    E. YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS. <Main> [-10002] Consolidated database server or ODBC error:  ODBC: [Sybase][ODBC Driver][Adaptive Server Enterprise]SET CHAINED command not allowed within multi-statement transaction (ODBC State = ZZZZZ, Native error code = 226)
    I. YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS. <Main> Shared administrative connection with connection ID 'SPID 13' has been disconnected
    E. YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS. <Main> [-10382] The MobiLink Server has failed to start
