2239416 - Serial number profile is set as optional but errors raised during delivery processing for HU without serial number assigned

Symptom

The serial number profile defined for a material is set as optional in customizing. However, when attempting to post material documents for this material the following errors can be seen:

  • Upon posting a goods receipt materail document
    • HUGENERAL 208 - Material &2 in HU &1 was not serialized completely
  • Upon posting a goods issue material document (in the case of a newly generated pick HU)
    • HUGENERAL 314 - Error during status change of serial numbers
